I saw this thing online, right? About iPhones and fake cables. And it got me thinking. Apple’s, like, *super* picky about their charging stuff. They want you using their own products, obviously, to make more money. But also, probably because they don’t want your expensive tech frying itself with some dodgy, knock-off charger. And honestly, who can blame them?
Now, here’s the thing. One dude online, who claims to order a *ton* of stuff from China (so, you know, take it with a grain of salt) says there AREN’T any fake Apple Watch chargers out there. Like, *yet*. He says. But I’m skeptical. You can’t trust everything you read, ya know? Especially on the internet, where everyone’s an expert all of a sudden.
And then you see stuff from, like, Target, saying you *have* to use the magnetic puck charger. No way around it. It’s proprietary, they say. Basically, Apple’s got you by the, uh, charging port.
So, here’s my take: even if the dude from China is right (which I doubt, honestly, because where there’s a demand, there’s a cheap knockoff), why risk it? I mean, you just splurged on a fancy Apple Watch, maybe even the Series 9! Are you *really* gonna gamble on some questionable charger that *might* (and that’s a big *might*) save you a few bucks?
I dunno, man. Seems kinda backwards to me.
